Michek and Thain took points in the GP of the Czech Republic

The GP of the Czech Republic of MX1 took place once again on the wonderful background of Loket, one of the most beautiful tracks in the world circus with Casino Bonver (sponsor of Team TM RACING) title sponsor of this event.
In the MX2 class Martin Michek, home rider, brought back the new TM MX 250Fi, powered by electronic fuel injection, in the points zone. In Race 1 Martin has finished in sixteenth place recovering after a bad start from the back that saw him to pass in the first lap around the thirtieth position. In Race 2 Michek start better with the head of the group but after the first corner is forced to stop for a fall that involved several riders who preceded him. Once again by the latest positions he ride towards to the points zone when, a few laps from the end, was forced to stop because of a technical problem.
Michek said at the end of the race: "... .. Today with a good start I could be in the top ten in both rounds. It’s a pity for the second heat. I think that the technical problem was the result of a contact I had with another rider in the first lap ... .. ".
The MX1 has seen the welcome return of Rodrig Thain to a Motocross GP replacing the injured Aigar Leok who will came back to Lierop. Rodrig, TM Enduro factory rider which is fighting for the second final place, took this good opportunity for training. Thain on Saturday during the free practices has tested the new TM MX 450Fi with electronic fuel injection, then he decided to use the carburettor version but only because he hadn’t the necessary feeling with the new bike.
In the qualifying race Rodrig got a good fifteenth place showed that he still have much to say also in Motocross.
In Race 1 Rodrig start in the middle of the group and he is able to recovery back to the eighteenth position earning 3 points that have a special flavour, while in Race 2 he still is in the points zone when, at ten minutes from the end, was forced to withdraw due to problems at his hands .
Thain said at the end of the race: "... ... It was a beautiful experience and I thanks TM for this. I could have done a little better but I have bladders exploded in my hands and to continue it would be too dangerous. I liked a lot the new bike with electronic fuel injection and soon I want to test it on my Enduro bike because it is very easy to use and I think it would be a great bike for private riders. Now I go back to work full time for the WEC because I want the final second place ... ... ".
In the MX1 class of the Loket GP were two other riders with a TM MX 450F, Czech Michal Kadlecek by RSC Italia Team and supported by the TM distributor of the Czech and Slovakia Republics, and the Irish Stuart Edmonds supported by the TM distributor for Ireland and UK.
Kadlecek has closed the two heats in seventeenth and twentieth places marking 5 important points for in the Manufacturer World Championship , while Edmonds has finished close to the points.
Next meeting on 30 August 2009 at Lierop for the Grand Prix of Netherlands, fourteenth round of the MX1 and MX2 Motocross World Championship.
